Microsoft EDGE issues with Adobe Flash Player

Aug 28, 2015 6:29PM PDT

After installing these 3 most recent Windows updates ( Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB308144Cool , Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3081452), and Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3081449) ) on 08/27/2015, flash videos will no longer play correctly, i.e. "solid green screen with sound only". Is anyone else having this issue? I was having the same issue on Google Chrome and the issue was solved by turning off "Hardware Acceleration" in Flash Settings. No where to turn off "Hardware Acceleration" in Windows EDGE. I was NOT having this issue till I installed the 3 updates mentioned above.

I was having an issue with watching videos on You Tube on a Chrome browser. Then I read that You Tube will no longer work with Flash player. I deleted Flash player and now it works great. Maybe try deleting Flash and see what happens.

Disable Flash

If you search the internet for "Should I remove Adobe Flash" you'll get a lot of hits. To summarize, Flash has so many holes for bad guys to do bad things on your system it has to be constantly updated. I believe that Firefox and Chrome have or are about to prevent the use of Flash on their browsers and in Windows 10 it's not even a separate download anymore. From what I read most web sites are switching to HTLM 5 which doesn't have these kinds of holes and they don't even require Flash. There's a lot of speculation that it's only a matter of time before Flash won't even be supported by Adobe so if your using Edge as your browser you may want to turn Flash off in settings and be done with it. I turned it off 2 weeks ago and I have not run into any web site that requires flash anymore. If you do you can go back into setting on Edge and turn it on but be careful of where you're at and what's your doing as you might turn into someone's next victim.

modern websites using HTML5. If your having trouble you can go to the setting menu and there is an option to open in IE. IE was left in Windows 10 for legacy websites.
