1. What are you doing to combat these plagues?

2. Does it happen in Firefox?

i downloaded adware and run this constantly. they told me to take off my spysweeper because adware was better and i did. no good. i cleaned out my history file in my internet option folder. i have a dell dimension 4600 running windows xp. the problem only occurs in my window not my son's. he uses the computer with no problem. any ideas? i don't know what firefox is. also my internet window opens "about blank" cannot change it to any other msn yahoo etc.

"about blank" is a known hijacker.

Usually it aflicts Internet Explorer and while some may disagree, it is time to use any other browser until Microsoft patches this puppy.

Try the usual tools I note at http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-6132-0.html?forumID=32&threadID=1313&messageID=15002 then if those don't cure it, move up the HIJACKTHIS logs and support forums noted at http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-6132-0.html?forumID=32&threadID=97199&messageID=1106892

As to multiple Anti-Spyware tools, I use the set I noted all at the same time across hundreds of machines without issue. I can't write about other combinations since I have no reason to change horses yet.
