Microsoft Anti Spyware

by Ragu / August 8, 2005 12:58 AM PDT

Good morning!
My problem is that MS Anti-Spyware expired and so I downloaded new copy but when I try to install I get the following: Error 1324 The path My Pictures contains an invalid character. I have checked Google and MS web sites and have found no solutions. it will not allow me to install new version. I also went to control panel and tryed to remove old version but I get same error plus the following. Fatal error during installation. I was wondering if anyone might have a solution.
System info:
Windows XP Pro. Version 2002 Serv. Pack 2
Intel Pentium II
400MHX 256 MB Ram
Thankyou for any help you may offer Ragu

see this M$ article;

There have been a number of reports of this error at the MSAS Beta Newsgroups here;;us
(Click on the "Install" link on the left).

The one I found that appears to have an answer refers to a Tech Republic article located here;

It mentions that either it is a problem with naming of a Shared file folder, or a problem with Windows Installer. Have a look at the article and see if it helps.
