microsoft access switchboard help needed

Jul 27, 2005 2:00AM PDT

I created a new switchboard and whenever i try to open the switchboard form i get the error:

The expression On Open you entere as the event property setting produced the following error:
error accessing file. Network connection may have been lost

*the exoression may not result in the name of a macro, the name of a user-defined function, or [Event procedure]
*there may have been an error evaluating the function, event or macro

Anyone have any ideas what is going on? And what I can do to remedy this so I can get the switchboard up and running?

Suggestions.
Jul 27, 2005 6:22AM PDT

1. Does the switchboard in Northwind work?
2. What happens if you copy the working switchboard from Northwind into a new database?
3. If that works also, you should be able to edit it according to your needs.

No northwind doesnt work either. i tried copying the switchboard from northwind but that didnt work too. I created a switchboard by going to tools->database utilities->switchboard manager and created the switchboard. I get the error message no matter what I add or dont add to the switchboard. Any other suggestions anyone? I hope thats enough info

So the northwind switchboard loads, but when i click on a button I recieve an error message that says module not found. For some reason I am also missing the switchboard items table. I do have a switchboard items table in my database that I am trying to create the switchboard for.

the idea I got from the MSKB link Bob Proffitt gave, that it's a more general Access/Visual Basic problem. Try the resolutions in that article.

Good luck,
