Does http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810582 apply?
If so, you've got 3 possible solutions:
1. The one in this article: use data access pages. This requires programming.
2. The one in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/303650/ : changing advanced security settings.
3. Use a mapped drive (like i:\data\access) instead of an url to open the file.
Hope this helps.

I have just introduced a network into my office comprising 2 user computers and a server. The server only has data on it.
One item I moved to the server is an MS Access database which i have been using for many years running MS Office XP Pro.
When I attempt to open the file from my computer I get the following message:
Microsoft Access cannot open this file
The file is located outside your intranet or on an untrusted site. Microsoft Access will not open the file due to potential security problems.
I need the file on the server so that it can be shared and the data backup runs from there.
Can anyone offer some help/advice please.
Thank you
Philip
