Question

microSD card needs formatting... again?

Mar 18, 2018 9:38PM PDT

So my microSD card needs to be formatted for the 6th time in the last 8 months. I usually use this particular microSD card to hold music files for an MP3 Player (not an iPod, iPhone or Android) I'm not on any weird sites, I scan my devices frequently to be sure nothing bad can get into anything, and I export my devices rather than simply yanking them out. My questions are as follows:

1) What could be causing this?

2) My laptop is now refusing to format the microSD card. Why is this happening and what can I do to fix the problem?

3) What can I do to prevent losing the same data a ninth time?

Get 2 new sd cards.

Call one the master the other your backup.

Put your music on the master and once a week copy the master to the backup.

Set the backup aside......test.

I have a Car Cam

That does this. It's a bug in the camera that is not uncommon. So every season I check for operation and then format the card in the camera.

There's nothing else terribly wrong about this model so I haven't replaced it. Just annoying.
