micropnone squeels.

Jun 11, 2007 7:11PM PDT

I have been using a logitech camera with microphone for four years with no problem
until my mother board gave up the fight. Had new board installed with
Asrock P4VM890.now my micropnone squeels, so bought new one.
A new logitech quickcam 8.0 it also squeels. When I try to ajust
the mic volume bar slider it will not stay in the position I place it.
When I take my finger off the arrow the bar goes to the top and
squeels. Has anyone have a solution. Thank you Patrick

Squealing when using a microphone
Jun 12, 2007 4:52AM PDT

is usually due to feedback of sound from the speakers through the microphone, if the feedback is in pahse the signal builds up almost i9nstantly to saturation.

Try the microphone at various locations so that sound does not get into the mic.

It may not be possible to simply lower the sound volume alone. Must shield the microphone from the sound.

Along That Same Line..

You don't want the speakers sounding off when using the microphone.. Turn the volume all the way down or "mute" the speakers from the speaker icon in the lower right corner of your screen. Move the microphone volume up but the speaker volume down in the "Open Volume Control" properties.

Hope this helps.
