They don't last forever but it sounds like it died in some way that allowed some recovery. After you get what you need from it, store it or shred it.
Ok, I'm going to go into as much detail as possible.
Issue: 32 GB MicroSd Card Strontium
Used on Lenovo Note K4 with KitKat upgraded to Lollipop.
For some reason, at some point, I took my SD card of 32 GB and gave it to my wife to use on.her mobile. Afterwards I upgraded her to a 64 GB card (which we will come to). This SD card worked just fine.
But abruptly when I wanted to delete these files and use it on another phone that I had, it refused to delete the files, refuses to format and at times even refuses to copy. I can see the files, access them even, but I can't seem to be able to do anything to them.
What all I have tried:
1. Format on Windows
2. Format on Mac
3. Format on CMD
4. SD Formatter
6. HDD low level format
Each of these gives me one error or the other. While the formats on windows and Mac work, they don't delete the files and I am left with only 8 GB of available space. Diskpart is able to clean but doesn't go beyond that, giving me a Virtual Disk error. Low level format does a full 40 minute format and then comes back to say it's all been wiped clean. But when I put it into my disk, the darned files are there again.
Can someone please tell me if this is salvageable. I just want to know, more because I want to solve this, not because I can't afford another 32GB card. I simply have to solve it because I want to. Please let me know. Anyone out there.
