Hi, this is one of the best community in regard to PC help And any help will be appreciated. Please help me. Problem with Brand New Hard disc drives I bought a new pc around 10 days back, and came preinstalled with windows 7. But windows 7 was giving some problems so I formatted the whole disc, repartitioned And installed windows xp. It was running smoothly but one day, due to what I don't Know the computer just froze and ctrl, alt, delt wont work so I clicked on reset button And rebooted the comp. But after that it started showing some indexing errors in chkdsk So I ran chkdsk with /f but not solved, then with /r. Those indexing errors were not solved. Anyway, maybe I thought ok lets try formatting and reinstalling windows xp, I freshly repartitioned, installed windows Xp sp3. Those errors were not there in chkdsk. But 2 days later due to a game hanging up, I had to Reset the pc, and those indexing errors were back again. Indexing errors at $130. Running chkdsk Will show errors found cannot continue in read only mode, so ran chkdsk with /f and /r , but some Problems remained. MFT errors , file system errors, Corrupt attribute record etc. I downloaded Seagate tools since the hdd was a seagate barracuda. Seatools showed S.M.A.R.T - pass, Short Generic - Pass and Long Generic - pass. I had a portable copy of Norton disc doctor 2007 it showed errors but could not fix it since its a portable copy, and its the os partition which has errors, other partitions have no errors. Its a Brand New HDD, please advise what to do ? Any help would be appreciated My system config : core i3 3.00 ghz DDR 3 4 gb, Seagate barracuda 500 gb
