Question

MetaX and Windows Explorer issue (Windows 7)

Oct 29, 2011 12:24AM PDT

I use MetaX (an MP4 Metadata editor) to add cover art to the mp4 videos in my library. It worked fine until just recently, when suddenly a few videos at random (it least it appears to be at random) showed up as the default "music-note-and-film-strip-with-hot-air-balloon" picture instead of their assigned cover art. I opened these files in MetaX, which said that they were displaying the correct cover art. How do I fix this? And why is it only happening with some of my mp4 files?

I'd say that for that certain video's MetaX doesn't do it the way Windows Explorer expects.

I don't think Microsoft will agree that it's their error, so better contact the maker of MetaX for a bug fix (or at least an explanation). On http://www.kerstetter.net/index.php/contact-me Rod says he's looking forward to hear from you.

Hi Dan...

Just curious, why can't you answer the person's question here in this forum? You're asking them to go to your site and register to post the same question again, now don't you think that's a bit inconvenient--besides the fact that it is against the forum polices to advertise here?

Also you may want to look at the date the person posted this question--10/29/11. Maybe they'll be back to see your reply, but given that the post is over 6 months old, the chances are slim.

I'm going to edit out your email from your post to save your email account from unwanted spammers hitting your email address, but as a courtesy to the member, I will leave the link up to your forum, just this time. If it were any other time, this would've been edited and considered an advertisement link.

Also just to set the record straight for our community members and readers--are you the author of MetaX?

Cheers!
-Lee

Yes, I am the author. And the reason that I wanted him to post the question on my forum are two-fold. One I track this forum daily, while I can't track all the forums where someone might post. Second, that way all my other users can benefit from the exchange.
