You can uninstall the Messenger App. If you use a mouse, right click on the Messenger app on the Start screen -> choose Uninstall' at the bottom in the screen. You can continue using Skype.
Hope this information helps.
Thanks and Regards,
Windows 95, windows XP, Windows 7 user here. I found windows 8 the biggest change I've ever dealt with but beginning to actually like it quite a lot. But one thing I don't understand...
The messenger app.......
MSN/Windows Messenger is dying. Skype is now king. So what is the point of the messenger app? I've signed into it with my Hotmail and facebook address. But some of my friends can't message me for some reason via Hotmail. I've signed into Skype and all is fine and beautiful.
My question really is why does windows 8 have the messenger app? MSN is dead so Skype is now king. Yet I can't unsign out of the messenger app as apparently its linked to my Microsoft account.
What happens now is whenever anyone messages me I get the message twice from Skype and the messenger app. It confuses me completely. Is this happening to everyone? Am I missing out on something here?!
