So why the abreviated version? Where are the two pages of footnotes and the half page Bibliography that used to be there?
Presented again for your (all of your) pleasure:

... but I think his reference was to actual official documents coming out of governent sources are known to have many, many footnotes and a long Bibliography.
Thus his query was a reference to that, as he knew it was a satirical piece.

Ought to have known that even a piece of fun I received in email would be attacked by somebody here.
As for what happened to....? In Bob Proffitt's style: "Maybe ask the original sender?"
See ya, Grinch. ![]()
Dale, Please reconsider and repost it. I was lucky enough to read it but I know many more would enjoy it.
I amplify YOUR comment (because all real US technical writers tend to end up with more footnotes than text and a rather lengthy biblio) and YOU take it as an attack?
If it was an ATTACK why would I have posted a link to something I thought was in line with the humor of your post and that I was sure you would enjoy as well as others. Did you even look at the link before getting your tighty whiteys in knots?
Wear the "Grinch" label yourself Dale--I neither ask for deletion not even hinted that there was anything "wrong" with it.
"So why the abreviated version? Where are the two pages of footnotes and the half page Bibliography that used to be there?"
I posted it as a pass-along for people to enjoy, not for it to be criticised.
As I wrote: Mea Culpa.
Not for posting it, but for being stupid enough to think I could ever be allowed to post something here which everyone (every one) would enjoy, without feeling the need to pick it apart.
This discussion is now over.
to two bones in your arms.
I will take the blame here for posting to you and expecting you to see anything but negativity.
... it was a clever piece.
With your permission, I would like to send a copy to anyone who emaisls me to request it.

There was nothing about it that called for deletion.
I have a copy if you want me to send it to you.

It's an old parody of "Night before Christmas" that has been around for decades.
Do a Google on "(as if written by a technical writer for a firm that does US government contracting)". and you will get several places that have it. The Not Just For Kids one at the top of that search has it.
neat parody on to friends via email but it got removed.
So, Ed wasn't that far off:
