It would have been better if you had started a new topic for your question.

Sounds like something is failing to load. You might want to run MSCONFIG (you can do it from within safe mode) and see what is loading up at startup. For assistance understanding what Windows needs to have running, please click the link below:

Additionally, you may want to check your system for parasites and run a virus scan. Google "Ad-Aware" and "Spybot" to download those utilities. What antivirus are you using?

Each new question or problem should be posted in a new thread. Burying a question inside an existing thread is not the best way to attract attention to it.

and provide more information in it, if necessary.

With the info you tell now:
- ISDN-device: either it's broken, or it needs to be re-installed.
- Powerpoint: Run Setup from the Office 2000 CD.

Hope this helps.

When I read "i have been trying to load Powerpoint from a windows 95 disk." and that your machine is running 98, my bet is that you are trying to install some powerpoint that came bundled with some other machine.

1. They made that very difficult to impossible to enforce a bundling agreement for the machine that had 95 and that version of Office.

2. You should make your own posting.

3. If you need to view and edit PowerPoint, try what I use. I use Open Office from http://www.openoffice.org without much ado or costs.

Perhaps the original thread needs to be deleted or set to not except more posts ... since many are not heeding the notice to start a new thread for their problems. Happy

I agree, but...

I was thinking what words I should write if I were to delete it.

How do I be nice and not hide someone's answer is why I didn't just delete it...

Re:If you need help

Frequently, I cannot get my printer to print.
I open the printer icon, and it says "printing".
Sometimes, I am able to print, and then all of a
sudden, I cannot print.
Also, is there any way to tell what "programs" are
running. When I open up task manager, it lists the
task, but programs are they?
For example: Usbmonit, Nly, Osa, Loadqm, Point32, Mixghost, Rundll32, Imgicon, Wmexe, Systray, and Hpobnz08, just to name a few. I think Hpobnz08 and several other similarily named "tasks" belong to my HP printer driver program. Thanks.
