Question

Mesh networking

I have two wireless routers and thinking about adding a third to give me full house coverage. They all have the same SS ID and password. Why would I need a mesh network, e.g. Google wifi, a new technology that promises the same? It would mean trashing the old wireless network and getting an expensive new set up.
