Merry Christmas!

Too bad I'm not unwrapping a new shiny iMac. My friend got one a few weeks ago. Lucky.

Incredible that this year is at an end. Been a good and bad year for me, and I guess that's how it was for everyone else. Well at least I got some stuff for the good old 360. I hardly ever used mine until Halo 3 and until I got Live. Personally, I prefer gaming on my Mac, of course Laugh. That, and iTunes, iMovie, all the apps with i"something".
I want a restaurant chain of iFood diners for Xmas next year.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas.

Currently having fun with the iPhone, I have no need of a 3G version, nothing I do with the phone cannot wait a few more seconds to load.
Besides, what's the point of a 3g phone if there is no 3G coverage.

Anyway, the iPhone looks good next to the new 24", 2.8Ghz, 2Gb, 500GB which I got shortly after my return from the UK.
You just gotta love that rate of exchange!

Now I'm really jealous. Those iMacs are just so, so, ah what words describe them? Awesome, incredible... I've always wanted to go to Liverpool and London, but I haven't the time now. Least now I can make an excuse, save me a good $1000 from what you said Wink. A family friend just got back actually from London, said that some bags and stuff cost $8000 there. I think American prices sound better to me than that.
I'd switch to AT&T for the iPhone, but personally, AT&T may not be the best in the long run (in my opinion). Sprint's been good to me except when it comes to customer service. I've had coverage and superb call quality everywhere. Ahem, Sprint is the only network that I know of that is currently deploying and testing WiMax, the new 4G. I think I'll stick around for that, when Apple has devices on every network! Super fast downloads may bring Video and Movie downloads in the Wi-Fi iTMS. Yipee.
I think Verizon is the top network overall, but I digress.

Enjoy your stuff everyone. Grin Happy Holidays!

was probably doing the conversion and going straight from Sterling to Dollars.

With the current exchange rate hovering around the 2 dollars for 1 pound mark, everything is expensive if you are paying for it with a US credit card or with travelers checks.

Being a Brit, I still have money in the UK and so the current exchange rate works to my advantage if I convert from pounds to dollars. I just wait until the rate is advantageous and the convert to dollars.

Still, I doubt that a bag, presumably a laptop bag, would cost $8000. (

More like luggage and carry-on bags.

To be precise. She wasn't looking for stuff for her laptop. I believe her 17 inch Dell machine never leaves her house. Only moves it from room to room. I believe that they were looking at the more luxurious stores that I could just walk by without a second thought. I prefer the Apple Store thank you very much.
Looking at inanimate objects that don't do anything really makes me bored. That's why I use electronics. They give feedback while allowing you to do things easier. Grin
If this family friend had wanted a laptop bag, she would have gotten a Tumi backpack or bag. Gave me one as a gift, and I just love it. If you've heard of Tumi, then you may know by now that she has good taste, so when she says something's expensive of ridiculously priced, etc., it must be.

Oh and I believe you were right about paying straight with US cards and money. I think they said they spent over $200 in taxis per day. I'd rather walk. LOL.

Did you perchance visit Glasgow, Scotland?

An off topic question... but if you did, I have a very strange hunch that I saw you.

All will be explained if you can answer that...

Glasgow..
Dec 30, 2007 11:37PM PST

Although I remember spending many a happy hour wandering around the watering holes of Glasgow, partaking of the local beverages, I have to confess to not being in Glasgow, Scotland at any time during 2007.

Strange hunch you say, curious. I once met a bell ringer in Paris who had the same affliction.

Do tell, Jimma!

It's just that at the very same period you were away, a man and his wife visited my student residence (his wife was sitting exams and he was obviously saying goodbyes) and they were from America (or it might have been Canada) and I just thought it was a little coincidental.

I though to myself "fancy seeing Mrmacfixit, now isn't it a VERY small world"...

Obviously just a hunch then...
