NASA is coming up with ways to recycle waste water of all types to make potable water.
I suppose Mercedes has create a "partially closed loop" system in using a waste product for something usefull.
And, if you've ever seen "Blues Brothers" there's mention of the band being soo amazing that "back in the day" they could turn "goat piss into gasoline!"
hmmm...I wonder if that's where the idea came from?...
I just heard you mention the new Mercedes diesel on Gadgettes. I caught the same piece referenced on public radio's 'Marketplace' program. They also touched on what makes the bluetech diesel so clean. It's ...er "secret ingredient". Worst of all, it isn't a new fuel you can buy at special pumps, but an additive that has to be stored separately and injected at the moment of combustion. I've been stepping around the issue too long. I guess I just have to get it out in the open... the key to the new clean diesel is ...urea. Yeah, it's exactly what you think it is.
Apparently when these new diesels run out of urea they become dirty old diesels. The tasteless jokes and puns are too numerous to go near so I'll let everyone come up with their own. I guess that's a long trend in technological innovation, we don't want to see where our food comes from and now we don't want to know what we're pumping into our cars. Oh well, at least they can bill it as 'all organic'
