I found that if I changed memory and then powered up the machine would lockup on resuming Windows.
Fix. Be sure to shutdown Windows (don't use the lid or power button) so the next boot is a full cold boot. This full shutdown must be done with the original memory.
That worked for me.
currently, this system has 3gb DDR3 1333 installed. 2 gb in one bank, and 1 gb in the other. This system is specd to take up to 8 gb total. This is what I ordered and am attempting to install:
Kingston 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model KVR13S9S8K2/8R
The OS is windows 7 64 bit. The bios sees 8 gb, I've pressed F7 to reset defaults and F10 to save, but the system will not reboot to windows and trying to run the repair program, is a no go.
I'm kind of at a loss here, as to what to do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
