What happens when you go back to 512MB RAM?
I have a Toshiba A200-1AC, which came with two 512 memory sticks installed. Recently, it started going extremely slowly, so I upgraded with two 1gb sticks (DDR2 PC2-5300 667Mhz), as recommended by the knowledgeable folks at PC world....
Before this, I could easily watch the latest .mkv download (tv program supposedly from a HD source, 1.02gb file size).
I have tried to watch these files since, and everything is out of sync, so I got all the latest codecs, trying to use VLC player, upgraded all the drivers I could, and then noticed my basescore was 3.8 - until I clicked refresh due to new hardware being installed. Now it is at 2.5!! What has happened?
The laptop manual said it was fine to upgrade to 2gb, all my drivers and codecs are up to date - the base score has dropped due to the memory result being 2.5.
I've been trying loads of things all day, and I think I must have worn out google! Can anyone help me?
Sorry if this has been discussed before, I just haven't been able to find the thread - thanks for any help in advance!!!!!
