Memory Stick vs SD Memory

Could you please tell me the difference between these? Wanting to buy a camera that offers the type of memory that is best.

Both are storage.

Sony updated their stick speeds so there is little to give either an edge. I'd concentrate on the camera, optics and features since storage does not affect image quality.

Thanks for the reply. One more question, if you don't mind. What is the availability of these memory items? Is one more popular than the other? Or is one about to become extinct and make it diffiult to find replacements after I've purchased my camera? I just don't want to buy something that is going to be obsolete within a year.

Both are memory, but the Memory Stick is proprietary Sony

technology. I am not aware of anyone else making or using the technology. I don't use it, so I don't know how its cost compares with other memory products. My impression is that CF is the most widely used.
