Question

Memory Stick For Sony Cybershot DSC-S930

Mar 12, 2012 3:19AM PDT

What is the best/versatile Pro Duo Memory card/stick for for my camera and is there a difference in a memory card/stick? I have also seen Sony brands that are "mark 2". What does this mean?

Memory Stick Pro Duo

Just get the regular Memory Stick PRO Duo. You do not need the Mark 2 because your camera does not have HD video. Buy a small size, no more than 4GB. That is large enough to hold thousands of images. Purchase your MS from a reputable retailer so you won't end up with a counterfeit.

That's differing info to what I was told

I'm also looking at a new camera & considering one of the Canon Cybershot DSC's. I'm also looking to use it as a replacement for my old analogue video camera.

I work my horse for 40mins in front of the camera then put it on the TV to watch it back & maybe put bits on the net after editing. So to keep the camera rolling requires a large memory stick.

I was advised to get as big & best quality MS as I could afford so I decided on the 30Gb (I think that's the largest)which would give me up to 80mins of filming in standard quality. Having the Duo means the camera can keep rolling & 'switches'(it's memory) so there is no pausing or short film durations.

I'm not that interested in HD for this particular type of video work. But of course it is good to have a HD camera for other stuff!
