memory management

Aug 6, 2007 2:37AM PDT

Hello I?m new to the forums
But love watching cnet TV
I need help I?m at the end of my rope; I need to know is there a difference between

XP HOME and XP PROFESSINAL when it comes to memory management

Now let me be honest here this is for homework I just started school I don?t want any one doing my work

I just need a short difference list then I will go and research those differences to base my report I will also give this forum credit (although it?s just a school paper I think it?s important)

? I have already tried searching
? I have already tried Microsoft, I even called them but I cant get anyone on that knows if there is a difference
? I called DELL and acted like I want to buy a computer and said I would only buy one if they know if there was a difference between the two
? I went to Circuit city, Best buy, and CompUSA No luck
Please help

Unless you count the 64-bit version of XP Pro, there is no difference between the two otherwise. And the only real difference with the 64-bit version, is that it is able to address and use considerably more RAM than it's 32-bit brethren.

No difference!

It's the same OS under the skin. In fact not long again someone hacked XP Home to be XP Pro. Also if you compare XP Home to XP Pro (you have to match the service pack versions) and the binaries on the CDs you find very few files differ.

Hope this is enough for you.
