Memory fails on Dell 7537

I had a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 model 7537 that completely failed a few weeks ago and would not turn on at all. I was gonna send it in to Dell but decided to remove my upgraded memory first. I just checked to see if it would boot and now it would so I assumed the memory was not totally compatable. Well yesterday the same thing happened so the only thing I could think of doing was switching both of the two memory sticks. This worked and now my laptop works again and I'm wondering if the memory is coming loose somehow? I don't think I installed them incorrectly but I don't know what to do.
