Memory Card Problem with Mac and Canon Camera

Hi there, I got a 8GB memory card(gift) from a friend but it's just not working. When I tried to insert into the card reader and connect to the computer, the new device/ drive just never shown.... When I insert it into my digital camera, it shows memory card error...

ps: I am using Mac OS 10.5.2, and the camera is Canon SD1200 IS which supports SDHC according online information.

May I know what's going on? Thanks!

Thanks!

Hi there, thanks for the quick replied. The SDHC card I have is made by Verbatim... My boyfriend bought it for me over a store from Texas.
I was thinking to format the card too, but it just never able to read at any device...

As for the Mac, it just never detects.... and for the camera, it just shows memory card error.... so may I know is there any way that I could format the card?

Looks grim.

Let others try it in their machines. If it fails all around it's the card.
