memory card needs formatting

Feb 10, 2005 5:52AM PST

Hi I don't know if I'm in the right forum but my camera a Kodak DX3700 was working this morning. I left it for a few minutes and when I went to use it again the screen read "card requires formatting". I tried to do it on my camera and it read "format failed on memory card", could anybody please tell me what that means or what I can do? Thank you in advance.

Hi Thank you Bob. I don't have another one, I guess I will have to buy one.
Thanks

That's a good idea. (why...) And another idea.

There are twenty bazillion of these cards out there. Every once in awhile I'll find a dead one or one that died. While I've been lucky, there will be that day that a card will just fail...

It dawned on me that I have this SD Card with a WRITE PROTECT SWITCH. Try yours in both positions.
