Memory Cache problem?

Jun 10, 2009 2:58AM PDT

I have just installed a new ASUS motherboard with an Intel Quad processor. I have three GB RAM-- two 1gb and two 1/2gb memory sticks that I installed, placing the two 1g sticks in ports A-1&2, and the two half gig sticks in ports B 1&2. The computer runs perfectly except for when I print several pictures on a single print command. It starts to print the first pic but then the entire computer shuts down as if the plug were pulled. Printing a single picture works okay every time, so I suspect is a caching problem. Any ideas on how to correct this? There is plenty of unused RAM and about 100 GB free on C:\. I using Windows XP Pro SP3.
