How can I determine the Ram memory installed by looking at the memory pwb? what set of alfanumerics express the amount of RAM. I believe 512 was installed but only "see" 256. Can ram be sdetermined by counting the ic on the pwb?

But you can use google.com to see if you can find out what size each chip is, then that times the number of chips may come close.

However this will not tell you if said stick will work in your or other machine. Or if you'll run into issues with some 64 MB stick showing up as a 16 MB.
