Memorial Day. How'd you spend it?

by James Denison / May 26, 2008 11:29 AM PDT

I took it easy, enjoyed the great weather we had, had steak and portabella mushrooms and basically just chilled out for the day. A thought for those who died so we could enjoy the day, and remember them for making it possible.

What holiday? .... I worked.
by Bill Osler / May 26, 2008 12:31 PM PDT

We did decide to shorten our weekend/holiday hours so my day was shorter than it was last year.

Patients love the fact that we are open 7 days per week. Staff? Not so happy about it.

But at least I did get a chance to ride the bike after work.

She's a supervisor at the county "aquatic center" and of course all the pools open Memorial Day.

Holiday weekend
by Steven Haninger / May 26, 2008 8:20 PM PDT

Actually, about the same routine all three days

AMs in the school and computer lab putting the wraps on a wireless networking project. You just don't know how much wire it takes to go wireless. We wanted to do as much as possible while it was still bearable in the building.

Afternoons were my favorite time....took nice long naps. Happy

Late afternoons and evenings spent in front of the grill cooking for the rest of the family. But even when I grill my wife does the side dishes which take more time than my part.

Back to work early today. I guess this means Summer is officially here.

Burgers on the grill...
by Angeline Booher / May 27, 2008 12:03 AM PDT

..... at this house on Sunday, and that was a good thing because it stormed almost all day yesterday.

I had a long conversation with my AF family last evening. They are reading for the journey to the next assignment in Fairbanks, AK.

Otherwise, I mostly watched as many WWII related movies I could find on TV. One of the best was, surprisingly, the silent one "Wings", made in 1927. (I know, not WWII related.) Next best was "Objective Burma". Then "Command in the North Atlantic". It was disappointing that no longer was TBS (or was it TNT?) having the excellent marathon it once did for s long.

I did get to see "Kell's Heroes" over the weekend, though. Happy

Kelly's Heros

Yes, we watched that one over the weekend too. A lot of well known actor faces were in it. I didn't recognize Don Rickles, until he spoke.

It's one of my favorite Donald Sutherland roles. Happy

Mondays are my weekend, so do what i always do, find some small task to do and get'er done. That way, I can say I did something on my day off. I did watch some war movies, the great selection to be had on this day as always. Reflect on sacerfrice those did and wonder if I would be around since my father went to war back in WWII. In this regard, I'm glad they dropped the A-bomb on japan, because I feel strongly I wouldn't be around today, as in all likelyhood my father would have
died. -----Willy Happy

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
