Question

Meeting halfway: gaming and research

Sep 13, 2015 11:53AM PDT

I am looking for a device on which I can do the best of both worlds: gaming and student research/homework. Games that I mostly play: DOOM, Diablo, (some) WoW, etc. Windows only.
Most important factors: ***price, ***speed, **storage, **customization, **multitasking features
My current device is incredibly slow, so speed is super important to me, because it has become incredibly frustrating.
Thanks!

So no laptops?

Laptops don't really fit with the list of features you listed. I'd look at a gaming desktop next.

Typically speen and price are contradictions of each other. But look for a system with a SSD and a data drive at least (SSD is way faster than HD) . I would look at min 256 gb SSD and 1 TB hd. A discrete graphics card Nvidia 960,970 or 980. Processor I would stay with intel i5 or i7. The better gaming machies will be over 1000 and the best over 2000. Customization XoticPC is a good one where you can configure.

Many sluggish machines act better than new with what I think is a simple change. How about what you have with a small upgrade?
