media player may not be your media player.

With all the media players out there, for this discussion use the shorthand WMP to note Microsoft's Media Player and if you use something else, name it.

Just a FYI!! Microsoft has never taken kindly to "unauthorised codecs" and I've seem some break as WMP is revised. This is why I keep Windows Media Player Classic handy since "I have no cure" for WMP's ills. I'll supply links you can research.

go to www.dvix.com and get the free player and codecs. the divx codec will intergrate with WMP. you can then uninstall the dvix player or on a p2p network search for all codecs. this is a nice program. find options under one of the menu tabs at the top of media player and select media types, then click select all. this will make media player your default player. skip
