media player won't play clips on amazon.com

by jkjack / January 18, 2007 9:18 PM PST

i am running xp and using windows media player 11 and the clips for songs on amazon.com will not play. a small media player window opens but that's it. i copied the link for the clip in to the media player and then get a message that i do not have the codecs needed. i did a search on this error message and was taken to microsoft site which advised me to set my internet security settings to medium but that is already the setting. problem persists in other browsers. have used many versions of media player before but never had this problem. any suggestions? thanks.

Revert to an earlier version. There may be some issues with is version 11. I thought WMP will automatically download the required codecs ? Another thing is that Amazon.com audio files may not be compatible with version 11...yet.
