Media Player Samsung LA52A850

Aug 9, 2009 9:20AM PDT

I purchased this Televison so that I could play my library of my movie DVD's that I have encoded to H263 (Approx 1000).

All of these files play perfectly on various $40 media players that I import from China.

I have found that they all have audio sync problems and Samsung support here in Australia is no existant and appear no not even know what I am talking about.

Similarly, most torrents are composed in H263 format and the same problem exists.

I have found that when I encode them to H264 the problem no longer exists

Also, I have found that the HDMI ports on this TV are suspect and will not support the players which are 1.2 although the HDMI 1.3 specs specify backward compatibility. I connect to the Samsung by component at the moment but two LG TV's I have tested on do not have any problem.

Does anyone know where I can get some decent answers to these problems? Running the latest firmware that I have been able to find.
