Media player doesn't shut down 100% Help please

by damnevilkitty / April 10, 2007 8:42 AM PDT

I downloaded media player 11 a couple weeks ago. The first time I play a file it works fine. The next time I try it hangs up, and if I go into windows task manager, I can still see wmplayer.exe. I have to end that process for the player to work again.

I tried rolling back to 9 and I tried re installing 11. It hasn't worked. Any other ideas?

I am running a dell insprion 8600 with windows xp.

I'm thinking...

1. EVENT VIEWER for clues.
2. TAKEOWN (see google) for file permissions.
3. Command Line Registry Editor for registry mass permission changes.

Sadly this is an area that Microsoft failed to make it consumer friendly.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
