This is for Windows 7, 64-bit version.
The one in question is Media Player Classic 6.4.9.1. I've had similar problems with Media Player Classic - Home Cinema.
This literally happened out of the blue. I watched a movie perfectly fine, then the next file I tried to open, and subsequent files that I knew worked (I'd watched them earlier in the day). It did this same error with them all.
When I open a file, the small window opens, then the screen blinks off, then a full-screen window opens and plays the file. No controls appear at any time, though I can pause with the left click. Rapid right clicks sometimes close/crash the program. I sometimes have to shut the computer off to get back out.
I've tried the following:
--Control-Alt-Del. It brings up the Task Manager option, and Task Manager appears, but it immediately switches back to the full-screen MVC.
--Alt-Tab. It will not move off of the full-screen video.
--Uninstalling the K-Lite Codec Pack.
--A newer version of MVC-HC.
--Adjusting Options in MVC to remember previous window size and position, while making sure the full-screen default is off.
There was mention of a broken codec when I uninstalled the K-Lite pack: VIDC.I420, from the system32 folder, designated emyuv.dll.
I really do like this program; I have lots of playlists for it, and it works with my screen capture program. I appreciate any help in getting it to work properly again.
