Media Player

Whenever I click on a link on a webside that should launch Media Player, I get the "this page not found" error. Some times if I click the link a second time, then the media player will launch. I dont care for the Media Player in XP becuase Im not familier with how to adjust it to go full screen. Is there a way to un-install this version and re-install the version of Media Player that came with Win98SE? Or Im guessing that there are 3rd party Media Players available.

http://www.nwlink.com/~zachd/pss/pss.html has the only methods I've seen dislodge WMP.
