Media Player 10 codec error: C00D10D1 NO SOUND!

Mar 19, 2005 8:48PM PST

Hi there.
I have a problem with windows media player 10. When i play any video file it tries to download a codec but says there is an error and therefore there is no sound, only picture. When trying to play sound files it just keeps repeatedly changing tracks as it fails to play each song.
I can watch films and hear sound ok in other programs - eg. divx player, so im guessing it's a problem with WMP 10.
I have tried reinstalling WMP with no success. Is there a default audio codec that i can download and install?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

Divx?

Did you try to play the same file on Divx? If so, did it work?

If it's sound, you may need Ogg codecs:

Here's a codec pack. At 50MB, it covers a lot of things:

Matroska splitter:

Quicktime and Real formats:

WMP have compatibility issues with some file formats. Try this:

Thanks a load! I know you must have to help so many people with WMP problems, and I did spend all day trying to find the right codec for myself, but with no success!
It was the "Ace Mega Codecs Pack" that sorted me out.
Everything works fine now, thanks
