Kosovo prison shooting leaves 2 Americans dead

Two Americans working with the U.N. mission in Kosovo were killed Saturday and 11 people were wounded when a Jordanian officer, also working with the United Nations, opened fire on them, officials said.

The attack took place in a prison in the city of Mitrovica, in the north of the province.

At least one of the dead Americans was a woman, the officials said. The motive for the attack was not immediately clear.
