ME Error at Shutdown-System Halted

by SBailey / February 22, 2004 11:45 PM PST

We just re-installed Windows ME and now when we try to shut down the computer we get a blue screen error that says "Windows protection error. You need to restart your computer. System halted." The A/: drive continues to search for a disk while this message is displayed. The only way to shut down the computer is to hit the power button. How can this be fixed?
