Uninstall, then reinstall McAfee and things should fix themselves. Of course, if you haven't also scanned with other removal tools to confirm the malware is gone, please try that first.. Download, install, update, then run a full system scan using BOTH of the free tools below:

My McAfee scanner stopped working and the program is deactivated during startup - corrupted or missing Dat file problem - but I got rid of the malware. The problem is, this thing keeps happening every update ever since the malware problem, and I have to manually download the DAT installer from McAfee. Does this mean there's another malware problem? Or that the malware messed up the update process and all McAfee users like me are doomed to manually download all DAT updates? Or both?
