MBP Drive!!! Newer buzzing noise, only when CD's used

Aug 21, 2007 9:33AM PDT

I just plopped in some new CDs I purchased and my SuperDrive started making a new buzzing noise.

It got really loud and faint clicking could be heard. It performed normally, but this wasn't the normal sound it produces. In fact, I think it converted songs into iTunes quicker than before.

If anyone can offer guidance on this, I'd appreciate it. Is this normal for a still-new MBP? Nothing was running except iTunes, and then I opened Safari. Once I ejected the disc, the sound powered-down and returned to the normal hum of my components at work.

Help appreciated. Thanks,
-BMF
