Maximum Size of CF or SD a PPC can utilize?

I have an Ipaq HX4700 and I was looking at SD and CF flash and CF micro drives. I have seen some microdrives and flash as large as 4gb. Is there some such physical or software limitation that this or other PPCs have. I don't want to buy one if they won't work.

Relating back to personal computers, I remember when 1gb hard drives were new on the market and some of the older computers couldn't recognize them properly.
