Matrix French Email Hoax

Nov 28, 2003 1:07AM PST

Description

This hoax message, which is in French, warns of a destructive virus that may arrive via email. It advises users not to open an attachment with the file name, Welcome to the matrix.pps.

It also claims that prominent establishments have released notices regarding the said virus. It then urges readers to forward the warning message to all their acquaintances.

There is no such highly damaging virus circulating as of this writing however. It is still possible, though, that there is a malware using a similar file name as mentioned. Users are therefore warned not to open attachments without first scanning the file.

This is an email hoax. Trend Micro recommends that customers delete emails similar to this.
