cannot recall the "artiste" involved but very sexy voice, kinda laughs thru it at times and does an impression of a guy announcing himself as.......you guessed it......the telephone man!!!!....hope this helps.

I had just about forgot about this song until I found this post. My hubby works for the phone company and it a telephone man. We had not been married too long when this song was popular. What really made it sound prevocative was the phone company had just come out with a bumper sticker for the telephone trucks that read "Let a Telephone Man Put it In". They had just started allowing the customers to install their own phones and the company was pushing the phone company doing the installing. So these two thing together put the phone guys in a sorta cocky mood, it you get my drift.
