For years you don't set the jumper to master, but cable select and the master/slave is determined by the color connector you use on the cable. If your IDE cable is not an 80 conductor IDE cable then you use the out of date master/slave settings.

Hi everybody, long time reader, first time poster
. Having a bit of trouble. I have one seagate 60gb hard drive, and the jumpers are set to master. Only problem is it shows up as slave in the bios, which makes adding more hard drives impossible! Any ideas?
