Massive anaomaly in Windows Vista

Mar 14, 2007 9:56AM PDT

MS has decieved the folks buying MS Vista. If you follow their advice and run upgrade advisor it NEVER WARNS YOU THAT HELP FILES IN LEAGACY APPLICATIONS WILL NOT WORK.

When you run a legacy application and click help you get an error message.

Folks this is not a third party issue. It is a Microsoft issue. SURPRSE-SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will recieve a message indicating WinHlp32.exe not found! Did you know MS replaced this file with WinHlp.exe and it is not compatible with any legacy applications.

Microsoft's resolution is "Microsoft is still developing software for this". I did manage to get my case escalted and was told fix is probably three months or more away. That is after your free support expires.

This is first party (Microsoft) bug, error or ananomly or any other name that fits. If you provide a help desk function you will get bombarded and can't offer a sensible solution.
