Mapping a network printer using Python

by drewknight / December 28, 2008 9:17 PM PST

As a new programmer, I have been trying to gain a better knowledge of the Python programming language. I am currently working on a project that requires me to map a network printer; however, I am not sure how to do this.

I have been successful in mapping a drive to a network location, but have been unsuccessful in mapping a network printer to my computer.

Any tips, links, or code is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Python script
by drewknight / December 29, 2008 3:52 AM PST

Thanks for the link, Kees. I checked it out and found the information interesting.

However, if at all possible, I would like to use all Python script to map a network printer. I have been researching this off and on throughout the day and have not found useful code examples. If you come across any more information that you feel may be useful, I would greatly appreciated it!

Likewise, I will post the correct code on here once I have it working for others with the same issue.

How do you map to a network folder in Python?

In reply to: Python script

In NET USE, it's a simple variant. It might be the same in Python.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
