Question

Map a Drive

Mar 22, 2012 5:45AM PDT

I can't map a drive to my PC from my laptop. My PC IP address is 192.168.1xx and my laptop IP address is 50.40.165.xxx. Is this the problem?

Mapping usually only works on your LAN and not across the internet.

Why does your laptop have a fixed IP-address? That is rather uncommon. Does it work with the usual DHCP supplied IP-address? Does it work the other way around?

Same workgroup? Same user accounts (your logon account) on both machines? File sharing enabled? No firewall blocking it?
