Manually inputting network settings LA46B750?

Aug 1, 2009 10:49PM PDT

My LA46B750 wouldn't recognise my network using DHCP "enabled" (go figure?!), so I manually input my network settings and the LA46B750 says that I'm not connected to the "Gateway"(even though I am). I tried to change the DNS address by highlighting the box, but it won't allow me to change the numbers?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

pnob,

What are you trying to network? The Media 2.0 features (widgets) or Blu-ray player streaming? If so, do you have the dongle?

This information would help us help you.

Thanks for your replyHappy
I'm just trying to get the television to wirelessly recognise my home network (PC), and internet.
I'm using the correct USB dongle, but have the problem as stated above?

Even when selecting "Manual" in the "Internet Protocol Setup", I can't change any of the settings that I initially set. The remote can navigate around the boxes ok, but it won't let me change them?

To use Manual settings in Wireless Setup, your network has to be Ad-Hoc type, which is most likely not the case. You will have to make it work with Auto Setup via DHCP.

Working!
Aug 6, 2009 2:12PM PDT

The problem was with my Airport Express settings. I had to set it to WDS mode on both units. One as a base station and the other as a remote.
I ran an ethernet cable from the TV and another from the PVR to a switch/hub and from the switch to the Airport Express.
From there it's wireless to the Airport Express upstairs, which connects via ethernet to the router.
Working fine now. Great to stream directly to the TV!
