Malwarebytes not work, updates from Ad-Aware, go.google.com

by bruvensky / December 21, 2008 4:58 AM PST

I downloaded Malwarebytes from this site and installed it into my computer, but when I go to use it nothing happens. It is fully installed and in my Start menu.

I have not been able to get updates from Ad-Aweare since December 9th. I get a message that tells me that I am not connected to their server.

I have the go.google.com trojan what redirects my searches on Google.

If Malwarebytes Is Already Installed...
by Grif Thomas Forum moderator / December 21, 2008 8:51 AM PST

...then navigate to the C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Antimalware folder and rename the mbam.exe file to something else like Gogetum.exe.. Once that's done, double click on the newly renamed file and see if it runs now..

There are a few types of malware which stop mbam.exe from running.. Rename it to something else, it will probably run correctly.

Hope this helps.
