Male to Female Gold Plated Audio Adapter for iPhone 5

Hi! This Christmas, I purchased the iPhone 5, the Otterbox Defender Case, and the Tour earbuds by Dr. Dre. Unfortunately, the "L" shape of part at the bottom of the headphones doesn't fit into the case. I have already asked the Dr. Dre company if they sold adapters, but they replied saying they didn't. They did say that I needed a male to female audio adapter that is gold plated, so the sound quality isn't compromised. There are tons of these adapters on ebay and amazon, but most of the time people say that the microphone and the remote on the headphones don't work. Also, I don't want the cord to be too long because all I would be using it for is things like listening to music and talking on the phone. In addition, it would be helpful if the adapters don't cost too much money. It already is a pain that I had to spend so much money on the headphones and they don't even work with my phone b/c my case. Do you know of any adapters that would fit these specifications?
