Question

Making/Keeping 'MY OWN' Music Playlists

Hey there !
Being a novice here - so simple is better...

What are the best free websites/apps that I should get to :

Make & keep my own custom music playlist ?

EX:
I'd like to make a playlist of about 100 songs.
I don't have all these songs anywhere on my computer.
I'd like to put them all in my specific order.
I'd like to keep them, so I can access this playlist (and maybe others that I may make) from my iPad & iPhone.

What websites and/or apps should I be looking at ?

Easy to do ?

If I can do this somewhere; and I forgot a song that I want to put in, at say, #57 (making it a 101 song playlist) -- is that possible ?

I truly appreciate your help, input, recommendations, & comments !
Have a great day !
THX !

Clarification Request
The way you've described you needs is a spreadsheet

In reply to: Making/Keeping 'MY OWN' Music Playlists

It doesn't seem to be linked to any actual songs residing on a device per your text above, so that's what I would use. MS-Excel for iOS is a free app.

Apologies.
Not worried about making a listing.
Trying to make an audio playlist of 100 consecutive songs, in my own specific order, for future playbacks on either iPad and/or iPhone.
Looking for a website/app to create this audio playlist from 'scratch'.
Multiple website/app options are welcome (along with comments and evaluations on each, if possible)

Hope this is clearer....
THX for response.

Website for a list? Google Docs will do.

But for me the app would be iTunes. I have yet to have any issue with a custom playlist there.

Answer
These 100 songs would have to be somewhere

In reply to: Making/Keeping 'MY OWN' Music Playlists

for you to play them.
You mention iPad & iPhone.
With iTunes, as suggested by Bob, you could store all those tracks on your computer and it would be the work of a moment to put them in any order you wish, add to the list or take away from it.
Once that's done, Sync the devices and you are done until the next time.

You do back up your iPad/iPhone? Do it through iTunes

Are songs already on some website.....

...or do you have to buy each song for $1.00 or $2.00 from the iTunes store ? ?

Sounds like you are looking for a free illegal download

...except iTunes at 1 or 2 dollars a song ?

This sounds like you changed you question.

I use Amazon for MP3s as well. Those work in iTunes.

MP's....

Where do find them on Amazon ?
Once I 'get them' .... I put them on iTunes ?

(NT) Amazon charges money for songs too (n/t)

At this point it seems you are new to all this.

In reply to: MP's....

I think you need to dive in and start using iTunes, find your MP3s where you can for what you can pay or not pay.

I did run into someone that found it all too complicated and they paid their support staff to do this for them. I get the feeling this isn't you.

Get in there and start trying this stuff.

Yup ... Pretty new....

In reply to: At this point it seems you are new to all this.

...tried to be forthright immediately uptop on original post as to my 'novice' level...
If it's 'complicated' - you're right - I'll likely take a pass...
Just hate the thought of re-re-re-re-buying older songs...bought the 45...then the album....then the 8-track....then the cassette....then the CD....
Thanks for the encouragement to diving into some of this stuff (and probably messing it up) right now....
Just to get a start....I need to start to find free MP3's somewhere and transfer them into iTunes ?
THX again !

You have the CD!

In reply to: You have the CD!

So being simple....I can record any/all CD's into iTunes.
Will iTunes record the whole album - or just songs off the album that I want ?
Then - iTunes will hold the songs for me....then I can 'get' which ones I want and put them in an 'audio play list' in my preferential order ?
If I have say 94 out of the 100 songs that I want, where can I get the 6 songs that I'm "missing" from ?
If I get those 6 songs later from wherever (and I've already recorded the 94 songs in the order that I'd like); and I'd like the new 6 songs to be interjected in my existing playlist order at say #4 - # 21 - #33 - #34 - #77 - and #92.....can I do that easily or would I need to re-recored the entire list again with 100 songs and erase the 94 song list ?
THX !

This is entirely your choice.

In reply to: I have CD's....

For me I just rip the entire CD and make the playlist as I wish.

Collapse -
Yes, you can do that

In reply to: I have CD's....

It may take some finagling within iTunes to get things to display correct as the distinct and ordered part of a particular album or group of songs you have there already in your iTunes library, but usually doable. YMMV.

Good grief

Nope....

In reply to: Good grief

...never tried Spotify - thought they made up playlists and played them in a shuffled style depending on a genre that you choose...

Will certainly try to learn the YOUTUBE method from the link you provided.

So - to be really simple - in YOUTUBE I can 'get' say 100 songs from 1999; put them in the order that I want; then playback those songs in that specific order anytime I want (as many times as I want) thru my iPhone and/or iPad ?

Thank you also for your help & encouragement !

Have a great day !

Youtube still gets wonky

In reply to: Nope....
